Opportunity Grant Application (Grants
up to $3,000)
DHF grants give nonprofit organizations funds to host a wide range of their own humanities programming. Key elements of a successful humanities program will include one or more of the following:
- Making humanities programs available to the public
- Making use of humanities specialists (persons who by reason of graduate education, teaching, research, or publications are deemed to be professionals in humanities disciplines) to plan, present and/or evaluate your project
- Using humanities methodology to develop programming
- Fostering an understanding of the humanities disciplines
- Applying the humanities to topics of public concern
- Offering a balance of perspectives
As a major part of our overall mission, the DHF takes our re-granting responsibility very seriously. We are proud of making an assortment of programs available to Delaware's citizens. Approximately $120,000 has been dispersed on an annual basis in recent years.
Opportunity Grants can be requested at any time throughout the year. These grants, for up to $3,000, can be used to fund smaller projects or to assist with long-range planning for larger projects.Funding for Opportunity Grants is extremely limited and therefore we recommend you contact us prior to completing an application.
