- Is my donation secure?
Absolutely. We use industry-standard SSL technology to keep your information secure. Besides, we partner with Stripe, the industry's established payment provider trusted by some of the world's largest companies. Your sensitive financial data is never transmitted to our servers. We send all data directly to Stripe's PCI-compliant servers through SSL.
- Is my donation tax-deductible?
It depends. The Djimon Hounsou Foundation is recognized by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) as a tax-exempt charity in the United States. For US taxpayers, donations are hence tax-deductible as per your local regulations. Donations from foreign countries are not tax-deductible.
- Which payment types do you support?
Currently, online donations can be made by credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, bank transfer or Plaid. We are in the process of setting up PayPal as well.
- How do I get my donation receipt?
Once you've made your donation, we will email you your receipt automatically. Please keep this receipt handy. It is your official record to claim your donation as a tax deduction.
- Can I cancel my recurring donation?
Of course. You can cancel recurring donations anytime at the ease of a button. Just click the email link in the donation receipt to log into your donor portal. Alternatively, click the login icon in the main navigation to receive an email with a login link.
- What is the purpose of my donor portal?
The donor portal allows you to download your donation receipt, reduce, pause or cancel your recurring gift at the ease of a button.
- How do I log into my donor portal?
Simply click on the login icon in the main navigation. This will prompt you to enter the email address you gave us when making your donation. You'll then receive your login link via email. No password required.
- Where does my money go?
Your contribution will be used to implement the DHF programs outlined on our program overview page. At the end of each year, we will release a detailed annual report on this website to disclose the use of funds with full transparency.
